How to Deal with an Emotionally Abusive Relationship

An abusive relationship is like an interconnecting web of constant fear and confusion. It begins with a suggestion which soon transforms into question and then orders of dominance that you simply cannot escape.

At the beginning it might seem like their actions is a reflection of their love and concern. But soon enough the comments are not that far off base and you certainly don’t want to feel belittled or unappreciated. At this phase of the relationship a lot of people turn into pleasers with a constant worry that their simple mistakes might alienate them. This is a repetitive cycle which eventually robs you off your sanity as well. Hence, at this point the relationship turns abusive where mental trauma is a given.

Make sure that the answers to these questions align with your personal well-being and integrity. Don’t’ agree to things simply for the sake of maintaining the peace in the relationship.
  • The first person you need to be clear and honest with is yourself. Make sure that the decisions that you make is in alignment with your higher self and needs. Let your partner know that what you can and can’t do for him. Communication is important if you want to avoid the potential signs of emotional abuse in a relationship.
